Fragmented Contemporary Commert Report Fragment
Partial OCR reads like a garbled contemporary column with references to a shirtwaist, insurance, and an election result. It mentions Baltimore American and Bayerstown Herald and names Col. Wasterene and Fisk Warden Avbett Daas, but many words are unintelligible.
Merriless Minutes Show Quips Across Papers
Fragmented quotes from Merriless minutes mix gossip and political quips. Dialogues touch on marriage, youth, fashion, expenses, and campaign arguments, with snippets attributed to Newswed, Rooney, and various papers. The collage conveys social tone and era without cohesive narrative.
American vanity in Legion of Honor appeals to France
A disapproving critique from the St Louis Republic targets American eagerness for Legion of Honor decorations at the Paris Exposition. It argues Americans did little worthy of such honor and urges Congress to rebuke the display as a misrepresentation of the nation. It laments the praise of American commission frauds and calls for restraint.
