City Works On Underground Cable Replacement In Frederick

City Electrician Max Kehne says 2000 to 2500 feet of underground street lighting cable must be replaced due to rain damage and wind. Restoring lights by 9 pm, except white way lights which are aging, uses temporary repairs until permanent work can proceed. Replacement parts have arrived but installation awaits staff availability and broader street upgrades in Baker Park vicinity. Resurfacing East South street and a Pennsylvanian Railroad switch project on East and Church streets enter their second week, with delays due to nearby canning factories. France began mapping its entire area in 1789, a project lasting over 45 years.
