Testimony in Woodsboro beer case details patrons and disturbances
Six witnesses testified that Derr's Woodsboro store was generally well run though some patrons warned against disturbances. Crum recalled a remark about thirty dollars and a license cost. Dorcus and a few others clashed, while Derr defended the lease and public access to the premises, noting the bank’s ownership and 30 day cancellation clause.

Can't Segregate Names on Carroll County Ballot
Westminster August 30 Chief Judge F Neal Parke granted an injunction restraining Carroll County Board of Election Supervisors from segregating women candidates for the Democratic State central committee on the ballot. Edward O Diffendal editor of the Democratic Advocate alleged the board listed six men and six women and instructed voters to choose three of each. The order requires names be grouped without reference to sex. The central committee had earlier urged the board to adopt the change from the prior gender neutral voting practice.
