A cendiary fire yesterday in Livingston Texas destroyed twenty business houses causing a loss of 135600 with insurance at 30 percent. Gerlach and Brother were the heaviest losers with a loss of 4060 dollars.

In Monroe a man is shot after a chase after a partner in a domestic dispute. The mob pursues Labarge. officer pursuit ends with his death.

M C Brindle, a prominent Altoona hotel owner, was arrested on charges of larceny and receiving stolen goods. He purchased coffee, hams, sugar, soap and canned goods in wholesale lots from draymen John Baird and Charles Hoover who allegedly stole from the Pennsylvania Railroad freight depot. Brindle had been paying unusually low prices, sometimes seven percent below wholesale. A search of Brindle's hotel, the Gladstone, yielded about 150 dollars worth of goods recovered and turned over to the company. Freight Agent A T Henzelman said the recovered items are only a small portion of what has been missing in recent months. Baird and Hoover remain in jail for trial. as draymen they allegedly exploited access to the depot to steal goods.
