Rilk Producers Hear Of New Plant Plan
More than 150 milk producers and dairymen from Maryland and Virginia attended a meeting at the courthouse Tuesday night. Officials explained how producers would be cared for under the association plan, with the Rothenhoefer dairy plant prepared to handle 2,000 gallons daily and up to 6,000 if needed, and 12,000 gallons from the county to Washington. The gathering aimed to counter distributors resisting the new cooperative plan and assure members of continued outlets for milk through October 1 and beyond.
