City’s Pretty Girls Strike Missouri Man’s Note Letter from Kansas City seeks 17 year old bride
A Kansas City man writes to the Frederick paper claiming he met many pretty Frederick girls during an auto trip and, after reading a notice about a lonesome 17 year old girl, offers himself as a suitor. He gives his age height weight hair and eyes, notes he earns a hundred dollars monthly and can sing and dance. The letter is unsigned in the paper, but typed with good handwriting, suggesting it may be in earnest. A dance invitation at Mount Airy Country Club follows, with listed hostesses and Hobson’s orchestra. A separate report says Mrs. R L Smith near Indian Springs is in critical condition after a colt kicked her in the abdomen.
