YMCA to staff county day care centers briefly
Fredrick County schools plan to reopen before- and after-school child care at Deer Crossing Kempwet Orchard Grove Park Twin Ridge Urbana Waveries Whiiner elementary schools using temporary YMCA staff. Foreseen weekly fees: members 63 and non members 83 with waivers for September. YMCA president Markoe says staffing is short term while full replacement occurs. programs run 630 to 430 a.m. and 330 to 630 p.m. and serve about 200 children across nine centers.

The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce hosts a water resources forum Wednesday morning from 745 to 930 am in Winchester Hall first floor hearing room. Taxpayer protests property assessment in Anne Arundel
ANNAPOLIS AP Willan Donald Schaefer contests two Pasadena town houses tax values set by the Anne Arundel County board. An assessor raised one townhouse from 132730 to 141290 and the adjacent property from 124150 to 131420, increasing annual taxes by about 170 dollars. Schaefer argues the water view classification and value increase are unfair calling for evidence based ruling. He may seek Maryland Tax Court if the board denies his appeal.
