Roderick Family 47th Reunion at Monocacy Park
The Roderick family of William McClellan and Clara Mercer Roderick held a 47th reunion on August 13 at Monocacy Village Park with 118 attendees. William Harold Roderick chaired. Rev Dr Raymond Roderick gave the invocation. a basket lunch followed. games and prize awards were held. certificates honored oldest and youngest attendees, longest nails, and other quirky categories. a cake auction replaced the cake walk. Attendees included numerous Roderick relatives and extended family from across the area and beyond.

Farm Queen Crowned to Open 1995 Maryland State Fair
Sixteen year old Lori Evans of Garrett County is crowned the 1995 Maryland Farm Queen at the State Fair opening night. Her court includes runners up Bobbie Jo Eaton Caroline Frederick Autumn Dee Guyton Rebecca Johnson Katrina Fischer. Farm queens from area counties join 4H activities as dairy goat and horse shows, beef and lamb judging, and a costume animal show highlight a busy day. Evans, a Southern High School senior on a 750 acre Angus farm, will promote agriculture during eight fair days and beyond.
