Weinberg Theatre’s Chicago sinks in Frederick critique
The Octorian Theatre Company presents Bob Fosse’s Chicago amid criticism of seating, programs, and cast. Melissa Mohler leads Roxie with mixed success while Nancy Johnson excels as Matron Mama Morton. Vanessa McCambridge’s dancing draws praise yet choreography falters. The review laments life support for a revered work and a reliance on familiar faces.

Production notes on OCT and Chicago visual effects
The critique cites OCTs rendition led by Bomango as mono chromatic with an undertow of decadence shaping aberrant life depicted, while Chicago is praised for spectacular visuals yet placed in a moribund milieu despite the glitter.
