Soviets link Crawford case to Prosecution

The Soviets held Crawford for 15 days in Lefortovo Prison before releasing him after the U S Department of Justice agreed to free two United Nations diplomats. They accuse him of currency exchanges including 750 for 1 000 rubles and 8 500 dollars for 20 000 rubles.

Police docket lists numerous Frederick arrests and citations

Since Saturday morning Frederick City Police arrested Henry Fred Brown for disorderly intoxication and jailed Daniel Lee Bagent for failing to pay a deferred payment. Others cited include Ricky Dorsey for disorderly conduct, Charles Owens for improper equipment, Randall Brice for no registration, and Ronald Navinn Carvar Anert for assault and battery. Additional charges list learder permit violation, unsafe starting from parked position, traffic device violations, shoplifting, and negligent or speeding infractions. A wire service note mentions Soviet exchange rates and alleged Crawford-related charges with testimony from Lusya.

Frederick man found dead in suspected self-inflicted gunshot

State police probe the apparent death of Dennis Edward Kees 30 of Rt. 9 Fairlane Trailer Park Frederick found Sunday afternoon near The Paul J. Gerstner. He died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He operated Skip's Welding & Repair on Broadway. The body was sent to the medical examiner in Baltimore for autopsy with a .32 caliber revolver found beside him.

Baltimore man badly hurt in Saturday head on collision

A Baltimore resident, Phillip M. Shifflett, 33, was critically injured in a head on crash at Md. 75 and Md. 97 Saturday night. Passenger Victoria L. Haney, 18, and driver Ronald M. Willett, 31, were treated and released. Willett faced charges for failure to stay right of center. George W. Brown, 31, of Baltimore, was also hurt and freed after about 20 minutes under a Hurst tool.
