Motorist Injured As Car Crashes Into Fence Post On Route 26
State Police report a westbound 1937 Oldsmobile driven by Charles L. Brown dozed at the wheel and struck a fence post near Route 26 in Mt. Pleasant. Brown sustained knee and head lacerations and was treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was not charged. A separate Route 340 crash near Red Hill injured a mother and her two year old son. the fleeing driver later identified himself at Barracks B and faced charges. Ernest C. Yingling appeared at Barracks B for charges of failing to identify himself after an accident and failing to drive to the right of center. A Peoples Court hearing is set for September 14. Mrs. Dorothy L. Wenzel and son Lee Edward were hospitalized with facial and forehead injuries after a southbound car struck Lewis E. Wenzel’s vehicle on Route 340. the other car fled the scene. The Wenzels’ car, a 1938 Buick sedan, was badly damaged.
