Housing Push Shifts Construction Control to Wyatt

Washington reports an immediate 27 percent cut in non residential building with a plan to move control of most construction to Housing Expediter Wilson W. Wyatt. Re conversion Director John R. Manion Steeman approved the armistice between Wyatt and John D. Small as head of the Civilian Production Administration. Small announced the actions to steer materials to housing and to finish unfinished homes before snow. The shift will double priority material lists and devote more supplies to veterans housing. Small will keep final jurisdiction over industrial building. He urged households to delay roofing and plumbing repairs under $400 unless necessary. A housing campaign objective is to pull materials from stores factories and offices into homes. The disagreement over further reductions in non residential building stalled further action. A birth notice: Mr and Mrs John B. Hart announce a son born at Frederick City Hospital.
