Benson Says Agriculture Is Not a Party Issue

Agriculture Secretary Ezra Taft Benson told the Pennsylvan ia State Poultry Federation festival that American agriculture is not Republican or Democrat and farmer problems cannot be solved by political maneuvering. He warned that price supports and subsidy debates will shape the farm issue and urged facing facts with sound thinking and action. Benson, a noted Eisenhower cabinet figure, said the farm crisis will fuel the presidential campaign and underscore the need for free operation versus government aid.
