Catoctin Area Development Under Way With Relief Funds
The National Park Service reports 101,459 dollars are being spent to develop the Catoctin Recreational Area near Thurmont. The project aims to expand units, conserve water soil and wildlife, build roads trails dams cabins and sanitary facilities, and carry out related work. Camp facilities host Maryland League for Crippled Children and Salvation Army programs. a third camp is under construction with over 300 workers on about 10 000 acres. Condemnation has begun to add 3435 more acres.
