Lewistown's Goldfish Industry and early town life echoes
Lewistown, laid out in 1815 by Daniel Fundenburg, centers on a thriving goldfish trade with Ramsburg and Hill raising ponds for sale nationwide. The town hosts a state fish hatchery, two churches, a two-room school, and historic mills, Grange Hall, and a railroad line opened in 1908, while residents seek new industry and affordable building lots to attract growth.
