Two men were hurt in distinct construction incidents two hours apart. Robert Specht, 32, of Frederick, was partially buried when a wall collapsed at a Dearbought home around 9:19 a.m. He was airlifted to Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown and treated before discharge. About two hours later at 7023 Picnic Woods Road in Middletown, Donald Richard Killebrew, 47, was dragged 80 feet after a lift truck ran over him while he attempted to move it. His arm was broken and shoulder dislocated. he was also flown to Washington County Hospital and released after treatment.
Searchers hunt for 20 month old Katelyn Rivera Helton at a Cecil County construction site after she vanished August 10. Police allege father Robert Rivera abducted the child during a daycare incident in Upper Chichester Township and later found him alone near Blair Shore.
In Washington DC a two day gun buy back yielded 1,058 guns by 9 p.m. with 57 deemed legal and unpaid. Police expect the total reach 2,222, noting many participants came from suburban Maryland and Virginia.
