Marijuana seizure and several arrests in Buckeystown raid
State police and Frederick County deputies seized 39 marijuana plants growing by the Monocacy River after a tip led to a Buckeystown log cabin raid. Also seized were drug paraphernalia and multiple suspects including Craig Punte and Annette Moore charged with possession and intent to distribute. Additional arrests were made in Washington D C and Brunswick for marijuana laced with PCP and crack cocaine. Bail amounts ranged from 3,000 to 10,000.

Ira Wayne Morgan Sr. 37, of Walkersville, pled to a second degree sexual offense and battery in Frederick County Circuit Court. Judge Clater W. Smith Jr. deferred sentencing pending a background check after a plea bargain that dropped six felonies and a state recommendation of 10 years with half suspended. Morgan dated the victim for years. an April 27 incident at her home led to a sternum fracture described as a preenstick fracture.

A Thurmont man, already charged last week with sexual relations involving his stepdaughter, faces 16 new counts including family mistreatment and sex offenses related to a second stepdaughter aged 12 to 13 at the time. The women, now 23 and 21, testified under fear and threats. bail was increased to 125000 with contact restrictions.

Outrage as Fire Destroys Home Where Children Died
In Homer City Pennsylvania a blaze tore through a ramshackle house killing two children left in a sun baked car. Neighbors shouted Let it burn as fire crews fought the flames while authorities charged John Shields and Lisa Shields with involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment. The parents allegedly left Calvin 1 and Kristie 2 in the car from Friday morning until Friday afternoon.
