Eisenhower to receive Civil War centennial medal
Washington AP Rep Frank Smith D Mass says the Civil War centennial commission will present the commission's gold medal to former President Eisenhower on Sept 3 in Hagerstown Md. The event marks the 100th anniversary of a Confederate soldier burial in Hagerstown Cemetery and notes Eisenhowers fountain project at his estate and ongoing tourist coin toss donations totaling 518 in the past three years.
