Police Court Delivers Jail Terms and Fines for Drunks and Crapshooters
Justice August I Brust sentences three to the State Institution, four to jail, and three fined. John Diedmond of this city receives $50 fine and three months for driving drunk and without a license after a collision near Pearl Street, while Redmond’s liquor offenses and a second license plate violation add to the penalties. Calvin Dorsey and Walter Malone get six months for transporting liquor. Three months to Ayers for drunkenness after a prior order to leave the city. Additional cases include fines for street drinking and craps shooting leading to jails or warnings as part of a city crackdown. A Klan reunion is announced for September in Gettysburg with an expected large turnout.
