Grand champion steer fetches 5.50 a pound at MontCo Fair
Lisa Conner captured the 4-H grand champion Angus steer weighing 1 310 pounds, selling for 5.50 per pound to Concrete General of Gaithersburg. Vicki Campbell won the grand champion jamb with a 136 pound lamb sold for 5.00 per pound to Sam Riggs of Olney. The Fair runs through Saturday with livestock, sheep, hog, and dairy goat contests plus family entertainment. Cancer screening clinics will be held Sept 3 at Winchester Hall Frederick under the American Cancer Society referral.
