Strength For Today By EARLY. DOUGLASS WILL THE CHANGE MAKE A DIFFERENCE
When marriages differ greatly in temperament and ideals, happiness may come after divorce and remarriage. If a couple violates decency and restraint, their next venture sometimes yields the peace denied before. The author then notes generosity in response.
Not Frequent but Repeated Marital Outcomes Cited
The passage argues that unhappy second or third marriages arise mainly from character weaknesses rather than circumstances. It notes that happiness rarely follows a second union, as selfishness, stubbornness, and reluctance to give and take hinder lasting change. The urge to divorce signals hope for happiness through change.
