Thrash er Farm terraces stand tests near Jefferson
Diversion terraces on the Thrash er farm near Jefferson endured a heavy hailstorm and rainfall that filled a 1.5 million gallon pond by open drainage failure. Rhea Kincaid of Frederick and Catoctin Soil Conservation districts said the terraces were undamaged, with only pond drainage causing minor wash and a 100 foot strip of land impacted. Over 1,030 people visited the Maryland Conservation Field Day, as work continued on fencing and wiring the farm.
