Electrification plans for Frederick lines and loop around grounds
Officials of the Frederick Railroad Company and the Hagerstown Railway Company agreed on extensive additions and improvements including electrifying the Charmont division, extending Fifth Street loop to the fair grounds, and constructing a power plant jointly to serve both roads. The plan calls for morning and evening loop operations linking Fifth Street, Patrick Street, Market Street, and East Wirth Street, with livestock and machinery displayed at the grounds. A power plant location was tentatively set for Antietam or Mynocley, with final plans to be submitted within a week.
