AT&T Seeks Overseas Rate Cuts and New UK Dial Fee
AT&T filed a new overseas rate schedule with the FCC effective November 15 1978 lowering rates for most overseas calls and raising daytime dial rates to the United Kingdom. Alaska Hawaii Puerto Rico and U S Virgin Islands unaffected. reductions arise from COMSAT satellite rental credits passed to customers with 15 percent discount valid through November 14 1979 unless changed. Dial direct rates apply with operator assistance billed separately. The plan extends dial rates to 17 Caribbean locations area code 809 with 9 percent to 16 percent savings and 20 percent cut on some additional minute charges. Certain locations Bahamas Bermuda Cuba St Pierre and Miquelon are exceptions.
