Powers May Get Credit For Behavior
Moscow reports that Francis Gary Powers could be moved from a prison cell to a prison colony within a year for good behavior. Powers, the U2 pilot shot down over the Soviet Union, was convicted of espionage and sentenced to 10 years with the first three years in prison. His Soviet lawyer says transfers under regional prison controls could reduce terms, with monthly visits possible for his wife Barbara and more frequent visits after a colony transfer.
