Readjustment optimistic farmers face improving prospects
Dean W Z Myers of Cornell University told New York bankers that the worst of the farm readjustment is over and that 1955 should be better than 1954 except for drought. He cited rising urban demand for quality foods, fair farm prices, lower feed costs, and a stable economy with social supports as factors easing the price-cost squeeze and guiding agriculture back toward balance.
