Officials press for state bids at MALO Conference
Maryland officials quizzed governor cabinet members at the MALO Conference on projects from the Woodsboro bypass to the new Department of Social Services building and affordable housing. State Transportation Secretary James Lighthizer said Woodsboro bypasses are unlikely for 4 to 5 years due to cost, suggesting gravel companies might build and the state lease land. DSS building progress was deemed favorable with a county owned North Market Street office, and a rental agreement letter is planned within two to three.
