Tjamsville Plays Here On Sunday

Tjamsville visits Frederick this Sunday in the Maryland State League playoffs aiming to even the series after last week’s 11 7 loss. Frederick’s Don Neel started six innings before Rick Zimmerman faltered, aiding a late Hustlers rally. Zimmerman’s control wavered in the seventh as Tramsville mounted a comeback. Frederick countered with 16 year old Jim Kinna on the mound, allowing 14 hits but sparking a late offense led by Danny Boone’s homer and Rod Allison’s triple with three aboard. Zimmerman may start again Sunday at McCurdy Field, with Tinker Michael pitching for the Hustlers despite a sore arm. In the other game, Poolesville seeks to rebound after a 17 1 loss to Brunswick, the league favorite, whose Bill Merriman shut them down with fastball and curve. Poolesville could deploy Mike Foward or Bob Deadrick. Both games start at 2 PM. Frederick hosts Tjamsville at McCurdy Field and Brunswick visits Poolesville.
