GOP Pledges New Tax Cuts At Republican Convention
The Republican platform committee released a tax plank calling for further personal tax cuts for low and middle income families, continued budget balancing, and spending restraint while maintaining defense. It supports tax reductions for small independent business and a strong dollar, and endorses Eisenhower era natural resource and water power policies with private partnership. The plank also backs school desegregation with deliberate speed and affirms federal, state, and local roles in ending discrimination.
