Rockport Mass August 24 The naval wargame pits Admiral Higginson’s Blue Squadron against Pillsbury’s White Squadron in a mock landing near Portland harbor. the objective is to hold a landing site for six hours without interruption while the defender blocks the attack.
In Frankfort on August 21 a prison riot began at 6 a.m. by three inmates Lafayette Brooks Wallace Bishop and Mulligan seeking liberty. Bishop was fatally wounded Mulligan shot a guard and Brooks surrendered with others afterward. Bishop died last night and the other two were jailed after pleading for life.
