Six Months On Charge He Took Watch
Charles Thompson a colored man from 109 Five and a Half Street was sentenced to six months in the Maryland House of Correction after being found guilty of stealing a wrist watch from Quaker City Cleaners where he worked. The watch valued at $20 belonged to Mrs. Margaret Myers, another employee. Thompson faced another charge of unlawfully receiving a coat shirt and pants. he was found not guilty on that count. Lawson testified he had lent clothes but not this item. A pair of pants allegedly found at Thompson’s home was linked to Leroy A Thompson, charged as well, but the pair claimed innocence. Leroy and Charles were arrested with Special Investigator Alien Bartgis. Magistrate Alton Y Ben nett presided. 29th To Honor Governor Lane At Camp Ritchie
