Official orders to remove three classifications overhaul local draft rules. Board Two will reclassify many dependents cases into 1-A or related categories, shifting calls to the new 1-A system. Four categories will govern future inductions with priority to those without dependents first.

Newark New Jersey August 20 Federal Judge William F Smith denied a defense motion for a directed verdict of acquittal for Herbert Karl Friedrich Bahr who is on trial on a charge of conspiracy to commit espionage.
