On the Citadel campus Shannon Faulkner departed after six days, amid cheering cadets and rain. Cadet leaders called it a cleansing day, while supporters fundraised for legal costs. Patrick Jefferson intersection closes in Frederick
The State Highway Administration will close the West Patrick and Jefferson streets intersection in downtown Frederick on Monday for about three days. Detours route traffic via College Avenue Carroll Park Way and West College Terrace, with signs and cones guiding motorists. The closure supports the $2.5 million West Patrick Street reconstruction begun April 1994 to replace utilities, curbs, sidewalks and storm drains and is slated for completion this fall.
