FCC OKs contract for phones at Frederick Community College
Frederick Community College Wednesday approved a 115000 contract with Bell Atlantic Meridian Systems to replace a fire damaged phone system from July. AT&T bid higher by about 11000. Installation planned by Sept 13 with insurance likely covering most costs. C&P Telephone provided interim service. Plans for fiber optic networks with Frederick Cablevision and C&P Telephone could enable distance learning at local schools and colleges, though timing and costs remain under consideration.
