Seton Center Summer Program Aids Working Mothers
Seton Center Emmitsburg ran a six week summer program for ages seven to fourteen offering full day supervision. Thirty seven children joined activities from field trips to water sports and 4 H enrichment. The program, staffed by Sisters from St. Joseph's and ten Neighborhood Youth Corps workers, included swimming classes taught at St. Joseph College and a graduation day for nine Red Cross certificate recipients. Family events, such as watermelon parties and a July 29 program by the day care children, complemented ongoing year round care.
