Susan Fry Crowned 1970 Maryland Dairy Princess
Susan Fry of Cecilton on Maryland's Eastern Shore was named the 1970 Maryland Dairy Princess at the coronation luncheon at the Francis Scott Key Hotel. First runner up was Joy Elaine Shank of Hagerstown and Joanne Doody won Miss Congeniality. Susan received her crown from 1969 Princess Jackie Mellett as more than 300 people watched. The field included seven other area princesses and judges praised the contestants as outstanding examples of today’s youth. Susan is a University of Maryland freshman majoring in home economics and works on Needmor Farms, Cecilton, with 300 Brown Swiss cattle. She is the daughter of George C. Fry and Mrs. Fry. Thieves Loot River Cabins Along Potomac River
State Police believe two cabins along the Potomac River were broken into Monday. AP reports two gunmen robbed Zsa Zsa Gabor of more than 600000 dollars in jewelry at her Waldorf Towers residence in New York. Woman Clerk Foils Robbery at Fairall's Liquor Store
