Glider Forced Landing Near Frederick in Sycamore Flats Field
A Mid-Atlantic Soaring Club glider piloted by Joseph Brennan of Baltimore made a forced landing Sunday at 4:40 PM in a Sycamore Flats farm field near Frederick. The craft landed without damage or injury after the pilot ran out of usable air currents while attempting to return to Westminster. Brennan reported pilots often face changing thermals and sometimes require chase and recovery equipment.
