Driver Acquitted In Picketer Hit And Run Case
Guy Martin a 39 year old New York Central Iron Works employee was acquitted of hit and run charges in the August 5 incident at the plant. Ralph Meducas a picket testified a rear view mirror on Martin’s car cut a shoulder gash and that Martin looked back before driving away. Martin testified he heard a thud and thought a picket struck the car with a stick or fist. Magistrate Harry Snyder heard the case.

President Truman named Lt. Gen Walter Bedell Smith to lead the Army's Central Intelligence Agency.
