Brunswick men appeal after police assault case in local court

Three Brunswick men convicted in a recent assault on Policeman Robert K. Miller filed appeals after a hearing and posted bond. Clyde Green was sentenced to four months in jail while Merriman and Hite received thirty days in jail and fines of 25 each. Green, wearing a cast, had fractures from the clash at Metropolitan Tavern on East Potomac street, where Miller and Painter contained the disturbance. Green required hospital care afterward. Miller, Merriman, and Hite faced charges of disorderly conduct and assault. Miller used a pistol to subdue the others as Green was brought under control. A parallel note reports a missing 1928 Buick coupe linked to Frank Parish’s near Taneytown. Police also broadcast a lookout for Meyers, a Gaithersburg-area resident, and a woman connected to the case. Parish valued the preserved car at a small percentage of Britain’s lumber supply.
