FCC names community education dean at Frederick College
Frederick Community College appointed Howard Smith Jr. as dean of community education and extended learning, to start September 1. Smith, former Palm Beach Community College continuing studies director, joins FCC as one of two new education deans. He aims to expand non credit programs and deepen community business ties while a 12 member committee guides progress. More than 85 applicants competed for the post. Smith holds degrees from Alfred State College University of Oklahoma Alfred University and SUNY Albany.
