Annual Western Maryland Holstein field day held near Middletown

Frederick County Holstein Association hosted the annual field day in Sigler's woods three miles south of Middletown. Attendance included cattle owners from Frederick, Washington, Carroll and Montgomery counties. A 105 head livestock exhibit was judged by Paul Misner with cash prizes in the Future Farmers of America contest and numerous class awards for bulls cows and heifers.

Winchester Hall to House City County Health Lab Rooms

Workmen begin remodeling four second floor rooms in west Winchester Hall on East Church street to host a new branch laboratory of the State Department of Health. A technician under Dr E C Kefauver will run the lab, with setup by October 1. City and county pay about 4000 dollars for preparation and 5000 dollars per year for maintenance by the state.

Annual 4 H Campfire Meet Tonight in Frederick County

13 year old Bobby Stowa Wayson returns home at sea

His father refused to meet him at the ship but Mrs. Frederick Stapp of New York welcomed Bobby Wayson home after a 16 day Caribbean voyage aboard the SS Elena. It was his fourth free sea voyage this year bringing total miles to 20 000 on 24 cents spent. Earlier he stowed away to France on the Normandie England on the Georgic and Savannah Georgia on the City of Chattanooga.

Mohler Declares Candidacy for County Commissioner

X. Mohler of Adamstown a retired farmer and former County Commissioner announces candidacy subject to the Democratic primary next month. He served as county commissioner elected in 1913 and was renominated in 1917 but defeated. Hahan poultry vendors do not deal in other meats selling rooster combs separately.

Wisconsin Woman Held For Hit Run Driving

A Wisconsin woman wanted for leaving the scene of an accident in Hockville was arrested by City Officer Daniel Swomley. The car with Wisconsin tags was stopped at All Saints and Blarket streets around 11:10 am and turned over to Montgomery County Police. The driver, a woman unnamed in reports, was involved in a dispute with another woman that escalated to a hair pulling incident before fleeing.
