Greenwood Mob Lynches Negro After Governor Plea
In Greenwood South Carolina a mob lynched Bob Davis after his Tuesday assault on Mixa Brooks and rape of a 14 year old girl. Governor Heyward arrived and pleaded for restraint but the crowd fired on the captive, killing him. A militia was alerted as hundreds gathered near the victim’s home.
