First Regiment Maryland National Guard units returned from Virgina Beach after a two week training period with numerous prizes on Governor's Day. The regiment defeated the Fifth Regiment Baltimore in boxing track events base ball and combat shooting winning several trophies from Frederick organizations and local clubs. Capt John Church U.S.A. was saluted in a Friday reception as he heads to new duty. Col D John Markey and about 125 officers and men praised the camp as highly successful.

Drowned Man Silas Hale Missing in Swollen Middle Creek

Native of City Dies at 68 in Grafton West Virginia
John Nicholas Tregelas 68 retired merchant and real estate dealer died at his home in Grafton after a sudden heart attack. A Frederick native he moved to Baltimore at 23 to run a wholesale store then settled in Grafton. He served on the Grafton City Council and as president of the Board of Education and Taylor County Fair Association. He held posts at Clarksburg Trust Company and was a director in Clarksburg Wholesale Grocery. he owned substantial real estate and was educated at St Johns College Annapolis. Surviving are his wife three daughters and a son John Leland Tregellas in Baltimore and a sister Ella in Baltimore.
