Bridge reopening delayed to September
Construction on the West Patrick Street Bridge will miss the late August deadline and reopen in the first week of September. Flippo Construction agent Matt Potter cited unforeseen site conditions as the cause and asked for a seven to 10 day extension, which is being reviewed by Gary Hessong, city permits and codes chief. If denied, daily damages may be assessed. Weather has not delayed work as crews operate daily with full shifts.
