Pedestrian Arrested on I 70 Drug Charges
Michael G. Looney, 37, of Gaithersburg, was arrested on cocaine possession and drug paraphernalia charges after motorists reported a pedestrian near I 70 and I 270. A pipe with cocaine residue and seven red pills were found during a patdown. bail set at 500 dollars. Police credited public tips and cited the Good Guys program.

Toddler survives seven story fall in Silver Spring
A 22 year old Silver Spring girl survived a seven story window fall while playing with her year old brother in an Old Columbia Pike apartment. The screen came loose and the girl fell as the boy watched. An off duty officer and a rental manager kept the boy from following. The child was taken to Children s National Medical Center for observation. The mother had left them with a 12 year old niece. The incident is under county youth division investigation.

Frederick Man Charged In Stabbing Attack
Frederick man Jack Edward Shaffer, 31, of Ridgefield Lane, was charged with attempted murder and assault with intent to murder after authorities say he attacked his former girlfriend Kari Chandler at her Germantown home about 1 49 PM Friday. Chandler remained hospitalized in critical condition at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda. A jogger discovering blood near Summers Oak Drive alerted police. Shaffer was arrested Friday night at his Spring Ridge residence.

Locker search tied to murder suspect Haynes in Rockville
