Five hurt in Woodville Road collision near Prospect Church

State police say a car driven by Lance Brashears, 17, from Mount Airy pulled from a private drive into the path of a southbound track operated by Elizabeth Ridgely, also of Mount Airy. Brashears and Ridgely and her three children Lori 9 Lin da 8 and Kenneth 7 were taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital. Lori remained. Brashears charged with failure to grant the right of way.

State probes Allegany Boys Ranch leadership

Allegany State's Attorney Lawrence V. Kelly confirmed he was asked to take over the state's probe into the boys ranch. Sheriff Barnes said a grand jury decision within two weeks would help reassure contributors and protect the children. Only two officials may spend ranch funds, and a Alabama trip by three sheriffs was to study operating methods.

Lake Linganore Severs Ties With Brosius Interests

Judge Clapp rules Lake Spring Water Company has no right to sewer and water speculation. The judgment effectively divorces J William and Louie J Brosius from the Lake Linganore development. Other trusts involving Brosius properties were moved to FMI, ending the family’s Lake Linganore Association board control in January 1978.

Two Die In Maryland Roadway Crashes Near Frederick

Two Frederick County men were injured in a 2:40 a.m. Saturday mishap on Md 180 near Petersville. Harold B. Moberly 27 of Frederick is in critical condition at MIEMS. Gordon L. Wantz 17 of Frederick was driving when the Datsun veered and struck a pole, both were rushed to Frederick Memorial Hospital. Wantz is listed in critical condition. Moberly later transferred for internal injuries. Wantz was charged with failure to keep to the right of center. In a separate crash near Hagerstown, Patrick Dill 18 of Waynesboro Pa died when the van skidded and crashed into an apartment building near the city limits.
