Declarer Play and Defense in a Two Spade Contract
George Gooden presents sample hands focusing on declarer play and a key defense principle: consider a trump lead after opponents reach a contract. With South’s spade overcall and North’s raise to two spades, East cannot rebid, giving West options. If West leads clubs, South can win, ruff three clubs, and secure all his trumps. If West leads trumps, South loses one more club and cannot reenter to ruff, limiting to seven tricks.
