Coatesville Mob Burns Black Man Alive in Hospital Lynching
A 46 man mob shattered the Coatesville Hospital doors and dragged Ezekiel Walker, a Black man accused of killing a police officer, to the hospital yard. They chained him to a bed and forced him into a blazing pyre, beating him with fence rails as he leaped from the flames. A 400 strong vigilante group, masked as marshals and brothers, watched and dispersed after the body burned. Walker had previously shot himself to resist capture.
