Hot staff and strange notes from a bygone paper
Odd items fill this fragmentary page: varied crabbed lines about cricket care, a Balinore death toll in a heat wave, oak trees and gardeners, a Prince of Wales fortune, high tar prices, and old colonial money details. Sparse local notes cover roads, bridges, a mill, and farm land values with scattered tales of magic, performances, and royal curiosities.
