Restaurateurs press modified city restaurant ordinance
City restaurant owners on Wednesday urged officials to revise a proposed ordinance defining restaurants with entertainment. They argue two provisions are overly restrictive, limiting alcohol sales to two percent of total revenue and requiring most revenue from food. They urge clearer rules to prevent abuse and ego-driven enforcement. Michael Williams, a downtown resident, notes abuse from officials remains a concern.
